Two now charged with the murder of Ian Pullen

Ian Pullen was a hero Helicopter pilot who had traveled to NSW from New Zealand to assist with fire fighting in the states Hunter Region.

Police will allege:

Police will allege in court 29-year-old Joshua Knight was driving a white Toyota Hilux utility when Mr Pullen was struck in the early hours of Saturday 29 September before leaving the scene.

It will be further alleged that the vehicle returned a short time later, with the man and woman exiting the utility and Nicole Mason struck Mr Pullen in the head with an object.

MAXIMUM PENALTY.

Under NSW law, the maximum penalty for murder is life imprisonment, with a standard non-parole period of 20 years, or 25 years for the murder of a child under the age of 18.
