Total Fire Ban Today

A total fire ban has been issues today spite cooler conditions with a light southly breeze today should give fire crews the time to strengthen containment lines around the Gospers Moutain fire.

but the fire service is taking no chances for new fires starting up by declaring a total fire ban ahead of more severe fire conditions later in the week.

Lighting a fire in total fire ban is serious offence with a $2200 on the spot or fine or if it goes to court you will slapped with $5,500 fine and or 12 months in goal.

We have seen reports of campers in the Hunter Valley lighting fires at McNamara Park yesterday, so it just seems like people are not getting the message.

Below is a screen shot of report of campers having a fire.

Update… Yesterday was not a total fire ban and campers were allowed to have fire.
