A teenage girl has been arrested following an alleged assault of another girl which was filmed and uploaded on a social media platform.
About 10pm on Friday 9 April 2021, several people attended a party in Aroona Street at Edgeworth when a 17-year-old girl left.
While walking in Aroona Street she became involved in an argument with a group of people.
It is alleged she was approached by another female who allegedly began punching her to the head and torso.
Police will further allege the assault was filmed by another teen and later uploaded on a social media platform.
The assault was reported to police and in investigation commenced by officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District.
About 8.30am today (Wednesday 14 April 2021), a 15-year-old girl was arrested. She will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
