ROAD CLOSURE- Merriwa to Willow Tree Road
MR358 (also known as Coulson’s Creek Road) has been closed to ALL VEHICLES due to the current risk of landslip in some sections, with signs of movement including cracking observed in both lanes.
The closure has been undertaken to ensure the safety of road users, based on geo-technical advice.
The alternative route for motorists travelling between Merriwa and Willow Tree is via the New England Highway and Scone/Bunnan Road with expected additional travel time being approximately 30 minutes (44 kilometres).
It is not known at this stage how long the road will be closed for.
The office of local government is investigating the failure of the road built by local council.
