Emergency services were called to motorcycle crash near Cessnock this afternoon.
The Westpac helicopter quickly dispatched a critical care team to stabilize the rider who had suffered a head injury.
Cessnock VRA volunteers were activated to assist with the rescue, upon arrival the critical care team were on scene, Cessnock VRA remained on scene until the rider was safely extracted and air lifted to John Hunter Hospital.
