The Fair Work Commission has just announced an increase to the minimum wage of 1.75% per week for workers who earn the least.

Unions have been left disappointed by the descision as they had been pushing for 4% percent rise in the minimum wage.

The increase will bring the minimum wage up to $753.80 per week, which is a rise of around $13 per week.

The wage increase would come into effect from July 1st and will benefit low paid workers in a time where every cent counts.
