Man charged after allegedly conducting illegal Back burn at Ebor to protect cannabis crop

A 51 year old man is in police custody tonight for allegedly conducting an illegal back burn to protect his cannabis crop.

Unfortunately for this man his efforts caused an out of control bushfire near Ebor and the town was threatened and came under ember attack, so far no lives or homes have been lost in this fire and no word on weather he saved his cannabis crop, but im sure police will seize any cannabis saved.

The man named as Gavin James Gardiner was refused bail by the Armidale local court and will remain in custody.

He his facing a maximum Pentalty of 21 years for arson and it’s high time the courts start giving the maximum pentalty.
