Cessnock Nature Strip Parking Ban

Up until now Cessnock has been one of the last councils that allowed parking on the Nature Strip as long you left 3 metres between your car and the fence for pedestrians and the post man to get past.

Unfortunately Councillors voted to remove the the 3 metre rule and ban parking on the Nature Strip. This rule is no longer contradictory to the NSW road rules which prohibits parking on Nature Strips

Parking in the nature strip will cost you a fine of $270,00.

A 6 month grace period will apply where council will only issue warnings.
