Port Stephens LGA Road Closures


Severe weather conditions are continuing to cause issues in and around the Port Stephens LGA.

The only current route from Nelson Bay to Newcastle is via Gan Gan Road and Frost Road

The following roads remain closed.

  • Bourke Street, Raymond Terrace
  • Foreshore Drive, Corlette — road collapsed
  • High Street, Wallalong
  • Hunter Street, Raymond Terrace
  • Lily Hill Road, Nelson Bay
  • Marine Drive, Fingal Bay — near Barry Park
  • Moorooba Crescent, Nelson Bay — near Stockton Pond
  • Nelson Bay Road, One Mile — between Salamander Road and Frost Road
  • Newline Road, Raymond Terrace to Seaham
  • Old Swan Bay Road, Twelve Mile Creek — Medowie Road to Pond Road
  • Port Stephens Drive, Anna Bay — between Salamander Way and Nelson Bay Road
  • Riverside Drive, Karuah
  • Teramby Road, Nelson Bay — land slip onto car park
  • Tomaree Headland — Shoal Bay Road to boat ramp
  • Wallalong Road, Wallalong — from Morpeth Street to Paterson Road
  • Millers Forest – multiple road closures
  • Scotch Creek Road Martins Wharf Road
  • Prices Road
  • Cross Road
  • Edithville Road
  • Manerys Road
  • Reeds Road
  • Dockyard Road

  • Nalleys Creek Road

A number roads still covered in water caution should be used, if its flooded forget it.

  • Cabbage Tree Road, Williamtown— 200m east of Nelson Bay Road
  • Clarence Town Road, Seaham — from Dixon Street intersection (connects to East Seaham Road) — proceed with caution
  • Ferodale Road, Medowie — near Campvale Drain
  • Fullteron Cove Road, Fullerton Cove
  • Gan Gan Road, One Mile— near Morna Point Road
  • Hunter Street, Raymond Terrace — near Glenelg Street
  • Kangaroo Street, Raymond Terrace — Aldi supermarket carpark
  • Lemon Tree Passage Road, Salt Ash — between Michael Drive and Rookes Road
  • Nelson Bay Road and Medowie Road roundabout, Williamtown
  • Wards Way, Salamander Bay — near Wanda Avenue
